Last week was pretty rad. I was out in Coolifornia commentating the Soul Bowl Event in Huntington Beach. The legends contest was pretty much the most surreal thing that has happened in my life. I know that most people know me from snowboard announcing, but the reality is that I have been skateboarding WAY longer than I have been snowboarding, and I have spent a good portion of my life dedicated to skateboarding history and knowledge. So you would guess I was pretty stoked to be involved with a world class bowl contest. Legends such as Steve Caballero, Lester Kasai, Mike McGill, Tony Magnusson, and Duane Peters were shredding the 12ft elbow style bowl. Pros like Sandro Dias, Omar Hasson, Brian Patch, and Chris Gentry absolutely lit the place on fire. The highlight for me was interviewing Dave Duncan and Eddie Reatagui about how they started the DAGGERS!!! This was a highlight in my announcing career. It was a pleasure working with Eric "Tuma" Britton and Steve Swope during the commentary.
