Street League Arizona

I went out to Arizona to host Rob Dyrdek's Street League Skateboarding. The event was absolutely amazing to announce and it was my first Arena venue that I have done. Some of the highlights included Sheckler's full cab flip and Chris Cole doing a 360 flip to 50-50 on the worlds tallest hubba ledge. Nyjah Huston won without a doubt, killing every section. Rob and crew were great and Arizona is way too hot for me.

Proof reps can snowboard -- Rep Challenge at Loon

After the Yankee Swap. Check out Ryan Manning getting iced in front and Mark Wakeling icing himself with Mojito in a bag in the back.

This past weekend Loon Mountain held its annual old-guy contest, Rep Challenge. Usually Rep Challenge is a weekend event, paired with Shop Showdown--the first day, the reps compete and the local team riders get to heckle the old guys. The second day, the kids strap in and try to impress the reps so they get to stay on their teams! This year, though, the competition was rescheduled and coincided with Loon's 80's Day, which was perfect since most of the reps haven't done an actual trick on their snowboards since '89.

It was beautiful, spring weather, and Loon Terrain Park Manager Brian Norton provided plenty of pizza and Narragansett, so the crew of road warriors and pseudo desk jockeys stepped to the rail jam and quarterpipe portions of the event with some unreal old guy tricks. Fitting, since this was the last WUSR event of the season. I got upside-down on the QP for the first time in years and took first place. Wakeling earned second, rounding out a solid Oakley showing.

Rep Challenge crown.

Huge thanks to Norton, Scambio, Jordan, and their crew, for putting on one of the funnest events all season. And to this guy:

Winter X Games 15

I recently went out to Aspen for Winter X Games and did some announcing and hosting. I was on site to live announce the Snowboard Street event and do some interviewing for the show Inside X. The Venue broke records having over 40 thousand people per day at the event and there was also some amazing riding going on. I got to stay in he biggest mansion I have ever seen in person, so that was pretty rad as well. Super fun time and thanks to all the production people at ESPN for having me come out and join the fun....

NBC Olympic Zone Interview

NBC brought me in studio this year during the Vancouver Games as a "Snowboarding Expert" whatever that means, but I was there to talk about snowboarding and bring some knowledge and education to the people at home that may have not known too much about the sport. It was a great experience and pretty fun to banter a bit with their sports anchor, Joe Amorosino.

2010 Burton US Open

The 2010 Burton US Open marked the most progressive halfpipe riding that has ever been performed in snowboarding. Some would say that the Vancouver Olympic games would be the pinnacle of the 2010 year, but not the case at all. Shaun Whites Gold Medal run would probably not have made Podium at the US Open this year. The level of riding in the mens finals was beyond what people thought could have been possible just a season before. I was on hand again this year to host the event with Preston Strout and newcomer Avert Guldemond. The weather couldn't have been any better and the overall vibe was great this year. Can't wait to see what's in the cards for next year!!

The Oakley Arctic Challenge

The Arctic Challenge is an event that is put on a pedestal in professional snowboarding. Only the best of the best get invited to come out and ride the event founded by the legend Terje Haakonsen. This year I was invited out to be the English speaking announcer for the contest. The event was absolutely crazy and the fans in Norway are on a whole new level. My time in Oslo was absolutely amazing and I really enjoyed all the people and the community. A huge thanks needs to go out to Liam, Matty, Joe, and Lasse at Oakley, as well as Terje for making me feel welcome in his hometown.
